Hello! I have compiled an assortment of links to provide a snapshot of my artistic practice. Because I’ve been more active in film music composition lately, a lot of my most recent work is still protected under non-disclosure agreements, but please reach out if you’d like me to provide proof of my most recent artistic activities and I’ll arrange something.

Seldom Spoken: A processed acoustic piano piece harmonically inspired by the tintinnabulation technique of Arvo Pärt.
Simple triadic movement in the piano is meant to mimic the sound of church bells.
The piano is processed via custom granular techniques. My software grabs microscopic (< 200ms) slices of audio. These sound grains are then able to be clustered into clouds to create swarms of sound, "stuttered" with gaps of silence interspersed to create a sense of disjunct thoughts, or layered on top of each other like bricks on a wall to give the illusion of frozen time.
The audio-reactive animation was coded in processing.

The Horror of Self: An experiment with "early music".
I'd spent the last several years learning how to play an ancient instrument called the Viola da Gamba which was popular from approximately the 1500's through the mid 1700's when it was supplanted by instruments of the violin family.
The instrument is held like a cello, has 6 or 7 strings, is fretted like a lute, and bowed.
This composition combines the melodic motifs of Hildegard von Bingen (12th c. Abbess, composer, and proto-feminist) with the stylistic sensibilites of appalachia.

Nothing Compares 2 U: Cover of a Prince song made popular by Sinead O'Conner under my female persona.
The music was created using mostly antiquated technology from the 1980's.
This entire project confronts the juxtaposition of new vs old, feminine vs masculine, and pop vs classical musical arrangement techniques.
The animation is a combination of hand drawn rotoscoping and a custom process of frame interpolation which artistically creates this sense of ghostly movement and pragmatically reduced production time.

Fall Upon Your Sword: A non-cover example of the 8bit bEtty project. Space exploration is used as an allegory for the challenges of pursuing a life in art.
Continuing the theme of analogue vs digital experimentation, the images were created via construction paper cutouts and hand drawn elements. I also created three fonts based on my messy handwriting which some custom code interpolates between to create the illusion of "line boil".
The animation was generated algorithmically with custom code created in processing.
